On the way to the most sustainable suitcase
The world is too beautiful not to explore
But we do so with a focus on how we treat the planet. That’s why we make as many suitcases as possible from sustainable materials, collect waste before it reaches the ocean, ensure that our suitcases are easy to repair, collect and recycle old suitcases, and work toward fair, smart production.
Our journey began in 2021, with suitcases made from recycled PET bottles. We now use many more types of sustainable materials, including Ocean Bound Plastic, such as old fishing nets, ropes, and marine debris.
And we’re not stopping there:
By 2030, we aim to make 100% of our suitcases from sustainable materials.
We don’t have all the answers, and we’re certainly not doing everything perfectly yet. But we do make conscious choices. For us, sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s a promise.

From bottle to lining, from fishing net to wheel
More and more of our suitcases are made from high-quality, recycled materials. This gives waste a new purpose and provides you with a more sustainable travel companion.
We use, among other things:
♻️ PET bottles for linings and zippers
🧊 Polycarbonate from old water containers for the shells
🌊 Ocean Bound Plastic, such as discarded fishing nets, for wheels, trolley systems, and handles
PRINCESS HAS NOTHING NEW
The PT-Elements collection contains nothing new. That’s because our suitcases are largely made from recycled materials, such as PET bottles and Ocean Bound Plastic—materials that have already been on quite a journey themselves. This is how we turn waste into adventure.

An honest story, verifiably verified
We use only recycled raw materials whose origin we can trace with certainty. No greenwashing, just verifiable transparency.
Our suitcases are manufactured in collaboration with specialized suppliers who, like us, are certified according to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
GRS guarantees:
- A verified percentage of genuinely recycled material
- A fully traceable supply chain
- Production that meets social, environmental, and chemical standards
This way, you can be sure that your sustainable choice is truly sustainable.
Repair instead of throwing away
Sustainable travel starts with a suitcase that lasts. That’s why we make sure you can easily repair our suitcases if something breaks. No waste, no hassle. Just a smart solution.
Inside every Princess Traveller suitcase, you’ll find a label with QR codes that link to replacement parts: wheels, handles, the lock, or the trolley system. Scan the code, order the right part, and have it delivered to your home with clear instructions.
This way, you can easily fix it yourself, without having to replace the entire suitcase. That’s not only good for the environment, but also for your wallet.
Project Sungai Watch
Naast het gebruik van gerecycled plastic in de productie van nieuwe koffers en tassen zoeken we naar manieren om plasticvervuiling te bestrijden en te voorkomen.
Project Sungai Watch is een initiatief waarbij wij hielpen om plastic te verwijderen uit rivieren in Bali ter compensatie van een deel van de koffers die we produceren.
Omdat dromen iets is wat je niet alleen doet en omdat we onze ‘duurzame reis’ volgen, hebben we samen met de Nationale Postcode Loterij, de Plastic Soup Foundation en Make A Change World 3 drijvende barrières gebouwd in 3 van de meest vervuilde rivieren op Bali. Met behulp van deze barrières wordt een enorme hoeveelheid plastic gevangen en schoongemaakt.
En met een enorme hoeveelheid bedoelen we minstens 400.000 kilo in een periode van 3 jaar!
Partnership with the Plastic Soup Foundation
Since 2022, we have been a Gold Partner of the Plastic Soup Foundation, an organization that works tirelessly toward a world without plastic. For every sustainable suitcase from our PT-Elements collection, we automatically donate 1% of the retail price to support their mission. In addition, we make an annual contribution so that we can continue to contribute to structural change even outside of sales periods.
This partnership is not just about financial support, but also about knowledge exchange. The Plastic Soup Foundation helps us approach plastic more critically and intelligently and reduce microplastics. Together, we make a difference: they with their expertise, and we with suitcases that demonstrate that style and sustainability go hand in hand.
Travel may expand our horizons, but it shouldn’t expand the plastic soup. That’s why we don’t just support the charity—we actively help build a better, cleaner future.
Local production, smaller footprint
In 2025, we’re taking an important step: we’re bringing part of our production closer to home. Not only to shorten logistics chains, but above all to reduce our ecological footprint and make the supply chain more transparent.
For the production of our case halves, we collaborate with Imatex Plastics, an injection molding specialist based in Belgium. The entire assembly process then takes place in a social workshop, also in Belgium. There, the suitcases are carefully assembled by people who face barriers to the labor market. They put the halves together, assemble all the parts, and sew the zippers in with precision.
That is local production with real added value: for both people and the environment. Suitcases are now rolling off the assembly line here for clients including the National Postcode Lottery—a tangible example of how you can make a positive impact close to home.
